Could not put it down much to my own detriment, as I had an exam the next day. This book completely flips a seemingly shallow, “time pass” movie on its head, notably presenting the tamest look into the (as widely accepted) most dynamic character, and then the most bonkers, as well as the best justified and researched theory to a woman (or two) not important enough even for the cover. Then it has an even better and much more convincing counter-theory for that as well.
C’mon, let’s make the impossible possible. Jai Hind :)

My first ever theory book. Blew my mind with how clear and direct Fanon is about what feels like an insurmountable challenge. Evaporated my last sympathies with the imperial core and its selective principles.

Nostalgia and clear fangirling doesn’t make for the most incisive journalism, but come on. It’s Sholay. Who can focus on on-set sexual misconduct and other rumors when it’s fucking Sholay. I read this book as a pdf amd finished it in a day yippee.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 3%.
The narrator and tone are obviously meant to be irreverent, but the writing isn’t nearly interesting or novel enough to carry on with. The only way i see myself completing this book is by buying a physical copy and guilting myself into it.

I couldn’t put it down. Raw and frank to the point of discomfort. My first Carmen Maria Machado book and god the things i would do for this woman.
