The Undermining of Twyla and Frank by Megan Bannen

I enjoyed this book less than the first one in the series. Everything about the worldbuilding still feels half-baked, and it remains one of my biggest frustrations with this series. The romance plotline felt secondary to the personal growth of the female main character. The audiobook narrator did a good job, but I wished it had been a dual perspective like the first one.

This book felt overall superfluous. Anyone could simply read the ending and be ready to jump into the next one. The mystery was only secondary to the character interactions. I'm glad there was some progression in the overarching plot points, but that progression wasn't enough to carry the book for me.
