Just because the characters and the story have the characteristics and elements of a slow burn enemies to lovers doesn't automatically make it that. They still need chemistry. And that was sorely lacking between Dianna and Liam. The world building and history and character development were great. The plot was good. The ending is the ONLY reason I'm continuing the series. I'm here for the femine rage.

Just struggling to enjoy it. I was bored for almost 5 hours. Gonna pass on the rest of the series.

It's not as good as the previous two. The introduction of new characters being so integral to the winning of this war with the Skulls and the survival of the characters we've had 2.40 books to get attached to is off-putting. It was like she was trying to force us to like the hierophant apparent on the same level we love Zelie, Amari and Inan, even though we haven't put as much emotional energy into her. I do adore her and Amari together though.

'blah blah" said Dex.
"Blah blah" said Deb
Over and over and over the word "said" is used back to back to back. 8 lines in a back and forth conversation said said said.
Also, every other chapter Dex needed extra food because of his amazing awesome metabolism? It doesn't need to be mentioned this often..

I just couldn't root for the main character. Or any character for that matter. I quickly went from "what is going on?" to "I don't care."
Avery: The Case Against Steven Avery and What "making a Murderer" Gets Wrong by Ken Kratz

Kratz is a confirmed sexual predator while Avery is still rumored to be one. I wanted to give his side a chance, but the narrative is hypocritical and annoying.
