Funny and makes a point. I didn't care particularly that it wasn't on theme because I felt like it was thought-provoking enough (for such a short work) to not need to.

This was fun stylistically and on theme. Not very emotionally impactful or anything, but I enjoyed it.

With no words, this was a nice little look into an artist's work that I don't know. I liked it and would be interested to see the art in person sometime. I could see it being very impactful in the context of a museum. Do wish there was something a little more on theme for it... but it was a nice little art insert.

Cute and nice art style... just not very impactful and didn't feel on theme at all... I liked it.

Not much to say. I found it pleasant, enjoyable, and I think it made me laugh once somewhere in there. It has a point to make, and it makes it.

This didn't feel on theme and it felt a bit lackluster and uninspiring when I first read it. But during the rest of our advent book experience, it stayed in our memories. While I didn't enjoy it, I can say it made an impression with its earnestness and a certain emoting over regular day things... there is a melancholy that hangs over the whole thing and I could it being very impactful for someone who likes more slice-of-life style work in a poetry format.

Funny, on theme, a little heavy-handed and I hope to never have loved ones in my life who are actually as back-stabbing and two-faced as these characters seem to be.

Looking up Walt Whitman, I realized after reading this that I'm familiar with the poet. I think perhaps if I was a super fan of this poet, I would have enjoyed this more... although now that I think on it I might have hated it as the tone seems a little mocking? I am not sure. What I do know is that Walt Whitman and "All I Want for Christmas" is a bizarre combination of things and it was a peculiar read that just felt sorta odd and boring. I do have to give it points for at least being on theme for a Christmas Advent though even if it was a deeply odd crossover of things.

I think if I had ever watched "It's a Beautiful Life" and made that connection during the reading this book could have been funny to me. But as I have never watched the movie and still am unsure what some of the book was referencing after some googling, I cannot really appreciate it. The style of the book was okay and I liked it seeming to make fun of the patriarchy here and there, but otherwise it just really fell flat.
