I was 5 when Obama was first elected. I don’t remember much of anything from 2008-2016, after all, I was a kid who cared for anything but politics. I do, however, remember the presidency that came after his, and I remember the fear I felt that day my mother told me who won. This was a gorgeous memoir, and I loved that I got to see a glimpse of what I could not remember as a child.

As far as self help books go, it’s pretty average. Crazy sexist though and I just didn’t like it all that well. HOWEVER, the cover is sick so I will be keeping it.

I actually liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I picked it up at a charity shop on a whim, and it was a nice $2 spent. I don’t understand why a lot of people
feel sorry for Oscar. It was very obvious that both Laurie and Oscar were going in 2 complete different directions. By the end, they didn’t want the same things and they slpit, simple as that.
