Shit book. It started off strong and there was some gore and fear but then... Shit. No horror at all the entire rest of the book until we got to the end. The narrator was bland and it wasn't well written. I felt no more sympathy for the characters than I do a random sad story I hear on tik tok. I was expecting more. I wanted emotions, fear, disgust, sympathy, and shock. But I didn't get anything along those lines. I didn't relate to any of the characters or even felt like I knew them and understood them in the slightest. Very rarely are movies better than the books and this is one of those scenarios. Don't recommend anyone to read this book unless they are willing to read it for the goodreads goal.
