This book kind of confused me at first. I was trying to figure out if it leaned more fantasy than reality--so were the Harts trying to test Finley with magic or was she actually a kid with depression/anxiety and the adults around her were just ignoring her? The line between Finley's imagination and way of dealing with her anxiety and how her family treated her was blurry. I was also surprised by a middle grade book that went so hard with depression. I might be a little out of touch but I was surprised at an 11-year-old with such clear depression and anxiety.

This book is phenomenal. Stop everything you're doing or reading and pick it up. Don't stop until you're done.
