A fast-paced plot complimented by deliciously purple prose. I feel like this is what Erin Morgenstern wishes night circus was (minus the steamy scenes of course).

Fans of enemies to lovers will be pleased. This book reads like the best fanfiction you've ever read. Likely to be enjoyed by fans of Tithe by Holly Black.

People tend to find this book charming and cute, a snapshot of a bygone era. Never have I seen anyone criticize the open CSA that happens, or the fact that it's never addressed. The general gross child sex stuff in this novel makes it a disturbing read, and the vague ending made it an unsatisfying one. Tack on crappy grammar and a loosely knitted narrative, and I just don't ... I don't get the appeal at all.
