Though I didn't like Done and Dusted, I wanted to give this one a chance - especially since everyone said it was the best in the series!

Unfortunately, my yee was not haw'd.

Starting with the positives: I love Teddy! She's badass and such an overall fun character to follow. I also appreciated that Riley wasn't a kid that was just in the plot for the vibes. She played a significant role, which I always enjoy when there's a single parent romance.

Now here's where I had issues: the writing.

I realize that Lyla Sage has a habit of repeating things a lot. I can't tell you how many times Gus emphasized how much Teddy was a bad influence on Emmy or how "the air was sucked out of the room."

l also felt like the reason for Gus and Teddy's continued strained relationship was so... underwhelming? The way it was built up, l expected more.

Quite honestly, this book could have benefitted from being a tad bit longer just to hit on some plot points that could've made for great character or relationship development. For example: I really wanted Gus to apologize for being an ass to Teddy for all these years!
He just said "oh, she's not so bad I guess" and moved on.

Will I read the 4th book? I'm not sure because I actually really like Cam! But I don't know if I can't take another
"ok" romance at Rebel Blue Ranch.
