“Step aside, Ava, or I’ll—” “Careful how you finish that sentence, Harper.” Alex appeared beside his fiancée

“They’ll extend your life span, Mr. Harper. I want many, many years with you.” “Not years, sweetheart. Forever.”

Omg?! Ava had twins ???? Stella had a girl ???? Bridget got pregnant as well??? What about my girl Jules

I finally gave into this book and I don’t regret it. Many said this book will make you sympathize for snow but it really didn’t. The book still portrayed him very bad and foreshadowed a lot of what he’s capable of doing. He’s a walking red flag and I’m glad Lucy left him. I do believe snow loved Lucy but not really in a romantic way but more possessive. He seemed to view her as a object during the games and when he thought of victory he always put himself first rather than Lucy even though she was doing 99% of the work in the arena.

Memorable quotes:

“Do you hear that, Coriolanus? It's the sound of Snow falling"

“Billy Taupe had to accept that Lucy Gray was no longer his, but belonged firmly, and for always, to Coriolanus.”

“What if this was his life: rising whenever, catching his food for the day, and hanging out with Lucy Gray by the lake? Who needed wealth and success and power when they had love? Didn't it conquer all?”

“If he'd felt better, he'd have laughed at the irony of how quickly their relationship had deteriorated into their own private Hunger Games.”

“In a few years, there would be a vague memory that a girl had once sung in the arena. And then that would be forgotten, too. Good-bye, Lucy Gray, we hardly knew you.”

“She could fly around District 12 all she liked, but she and her mockingjays could never harm him again.”

“Sometimes he would remember a moment of sweetness and almost wish things had ended differently. But it would never have worked out between them, even if he'd stayed. They were simply too different. And he didn't like love, the way it had made him feel stupid and vulnerable. If he ever married, he'd choose someone incapable of swaying his heart. Someone he hated, even, so they could never manipulate him the way Lucy Gray had. Never make him feel jealous. Or weak.”

O EM GEE. I read this book in one sitting. The plot twist ?!?!?

I stare at her, too afraid to speak. Too afraid of the next words that will leave her mouth. And when they finally come, it takes my breath away: “It’s such a shame,” she says, “that he never really learned. I’m glad you stepped up and taught him a lesson.”

“So”—Lisa slides the knife back into the wooden block and straightens up, her blue eyes wide and anxious—“can you help me, Millie?” “Yes,” I say. “I believe I can.”
