Common Goal by Rachel Reid

Age gap, which I generally love. Really enjoyed this & while I don’t care for Eric’s issue with Kyle’s age yet acknowledging his growing feelings for him we then find out that it took Eric 2 whole months to get his head out of his ass. But obv he does & begs Kyle for a redo. Listened via Anyplay.
Tough Guy by Rachel Reid

Ryan & Fabian. Defenseman & indie musician. Ryan is brought over to Toronto, CA & meets Fabian again 13 years later at the drugstore. 😂 really liked that choice. Really liked the connection to book 2 (Ilya & Shane) & by the ending wasn’t surprised at Ryan’s decision. Listened via Anyplay.
There Galapagos My Heart by Philip William Stover

First book by PWS & it was exactly what I was looking for. A second chance for the MMCs & I’m a sucker for that trope, especially when the angst isn’t overly intense. I’m definitely interested in reading more by this author! Listened via Anyplay.
Scandal by Gianni Holmes

OMG this story definitely went all over the place & I do mean the duet in whole. But this book really reached, especially drawing out Poppy’s character as the antagonist until the climax at the end. I personally think Charles & August’s story could have been told in one book with maybe a novella but it isn’t so… I’m sad to leave this big beautiful family but it’s been fun & the epilogue definitely projected HEA for the immediate family characters (not including James). Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid
4.0
So enemies to lovers is a trope that I am very wary of, let alone that the line between hate & love is actually just the other side of the same coin. This story of Ilya & Shane definitely needed to be written but I think there was too much of their backstory which made the book longer than it needed to be IMHO. But I am glad that we get a finality to their story even though the author chose to make them wait a decade for that HEA. Anyway, I’m glad we have their story nonetheless & their persistence to be together was great to read. Listened via Anyplay.
Game Changer by Rachel Reid

So I am a definite mood reader & rarely do I read seasonal books whether by sports, holiday or season. Nonetheless, I greatly enjoyed this book & am excited to read about more characters in this universe. Scott Hunter & Chip are another perfectly imperfect couple with one kinda big relationship issue that does actually get resolved pretty quickly which I appreciated. Anticipating books for some of Hunter’s teammates as well as the antagonist Ilya Roxanov from the Boston team. I did love all of the side characters though some of them I don’t expect to see in the other books & while I would love an update on Elena once she’s settled in sunny Southern California I definitely do not expect anything honestly, though I’m willing to be wrong. Yanni's Story by N.R. Walker
5.0
Well it’s all over, my first & possibly only read of this quartet. It was enjoyable, sensitive & beautiful. Spencer Cohen, Yanni, the Landon family & all of the side characters made this whole story captivating. More specifically, Yanni & Peter are a perfectly imperfect duo & having the in depth look into Yanni’s growth beyond an abusive relationship. Peter is literally everything I hope to be (as I’m turning 40 soon), his strength despite a very difficult childhood especially stuck out to me as I was getting to know him better along with Yanni & I really appreciated the conversation they had regarding the daddy boy dynamics. It was nice to know where Yanni’s housemates ended up as well. Listened via Anyplay.
Spencer Cohen, Book Three by N.R. Walker
5.0
Oh we got the epilogue this trilogy absolutely needed!! Erm, okay… and I’m honestly excited that we readers have book 4 to look forward to which will be an inside look at Yanni & Peter’s friendship to lovers HEA. So my 💭 are that what happened to Spencer’s younger brother Archer (Archie) that totally blindsided me & honestly it could have been written with a different outcome & still the foundation could be started & everything but it is what it is. I do love how in this book we really get to see Andrew be Spencer’s support with the reconciliation of his remaining brother Lewis & finally being able to see Aunt Maive? Not certain that’s what they called her. Anyway, despite my forgetting that familial suicide was a serious part of the storyline & how it affected me, this trilogy has been a joy to read & now I’m off to start Yanni’s story!!! Listened via Anyplay.
