The Quarterback Keeper by Emerson Beckett, Rheland Richmond
5.0
Well, this one had kids & I do love them expertly inserted into the story, like this one. Plus ā¦ dogs. So many feels. Cendese & Harding are a new to me duo narration & it was fantastic! And the MMCs were a great start to this series. Really liked how adult they were (compared to other characters by other authors) when it came to keeping their relationship hidden but only for a certain amount of time. Also, the asking forgiveness & minor groveling was š©āš³ š listened via Hoopla Anythink.
Only One Coffin by A.J. Truman
fast-paced

This was so much fun!! Even though it had to have a bit of a scare scene with vampire hunters. The witty banter was on point per Trumanās other works & I loved the second chance at love for established 300+ year old Magnus. Kilroy was a bit too on the nose for being a 25 year old himbo, but loveable nonetheless & a great character companion. The epilogue brought who I wholly expected it to & made me so happy. The Reclusive Mountain Man by Casey Cox
5.0
Eeek! Itās all done but was so fun. Older MCs, best friends & secretly in love with each other. I loved that this one didnāt go the typical norm (older top, younger bottom). Marsh & Tag have been friends since forever. Both intended to share their feelings for each other during Tagās short trip & while Marsh did have to sort through his feelings once Tag left, everything turned around almost immediately. Loved how these two decided on how to build a life together separating the year between the States & Australia, compromise never looked so easy. Listened via Hoopla Burbank.
The Curious Mountain Man by Casey Cox

A male librarian!! I think we the readers need more of those in MM/M/M/gay romance. Anyway, Branham & PJ were so cute & the small matter of miscommunication was really that small & only required an easy explanation/answer. Loving these brothers so far & their guys. Now for Marshās story! Listened via Hoopla Burbank.
The Silent Mountain Man by Casey Cox
5.0
For a short story, I really loved this one especially because it was a second chance. Casey Cox has VERY quickly become a fav author & Iām excited that my library has access to their work on Hoopla. Iām also excited that all 3 stories are published! Just wish vet shop boys down under were available ā¬ļø but oh well. Back to our MMCs, Harrick & Eddie had a decade to grow up & mature in spite of how they were suddenly separated & what transpired soon after. I swear, literally no one escapes this life unscathed bc until humanity is gone nasty, bad, atrocious people will always exist & hurt people hurt people. I love how Cox gently touches on sensitive topics like conversion therapy, abuse in all forms, and lifeās general struggles with care but blatant honesty. Kirt Graves is my top favorite narrator & he never disappoints bringing a story to life. Listened via Hoopla Burbank.
Tension by Kiki Burrelli
5.0
Had to take a break for a few months but Iām glad I finished it! Iām finding that I really enjoy Ms. Burelliās writing. For me, there was a bit too much going on trope wise & that stalled my continuous reading & so while I was glad Huxley got his story told I think this one wasnāt as quite enjoyable as book 1 was for me & it looks like more stressful situations are in the remaining 2 books. š

The Hideaway Inn by Philip William Stover
5.0
I am such a glutton for the second chance trope & this one didnāt disappoint, which was a surprise honestly bc itās not the norm for 2 books with the same trope to be a hit for me. Now there is a second book but I honestly canāt think of who it might be about but Iām excited to dive into it. Especially bc the town of New Hope has an excellent eclectic group of people that I just know would welcome me with open arms if it was real. Listened via Anyplay.
The Long Game by Rachel Reid

The finalization of Ilya & Shaneās story with all the characters cameos. Loved learning more in depth of what makes Ilya, Ilya & how Shane really stepped up in the best way possible after the playoffs & a huge bravo to Ilya for speaking up about his depression. Dealing with depression myself, I found Ms. Reid didnāt overdo Ilyaās issues but gave enough detail & one angry outburst to really describe what it can often be like for those of us with clinical depression & anxiety. Anyway, this was a fantastic series & I really did love every minute even when I was uncomfortable. š listened via Anyplay.
Role Model by Rachel Reid

These twoā¦ just are too stinking cute. I just canāt. A reformed, closeted gay man who plays hockey & the social media manager of the team. Loved seeing more of Ilya Rozanov as well as the cameos of Ryan & Fabian. One more book & aside from the novellas the series is done. Iāve seriously enjoyed every story (though Ilya & Shaneās was a bit difficult for me to stick with š) & liked how each story is about a character from a different team of the eastern region.
