I loved this so much. Highly recommend the audiobook, the narration was amazing. Fuck the patriarchy!

I typically enjoy JT’s books but there’s something about this series that just doesn’t hit for me. The first book I DNF-d, picked back up and finished it but should’ve left as a DNF. This book started out ok but the second she’s at the book store interacting with the FMC from book one, I was out. Plugging her other books in this one just felt 🫤. Save it for the newsletter babe.

It’s a Tarah DeWitt book so it’s going to have hilarious banter and spice. I loved the angsty parts of this story but it did get a little messy at times- there is a lot going on but I still had a good time. I will say, in 2024, to end a book on a Harry Potter joke is a bummer.

I didn’t realize how much I needed this book until I read it. So funny but holy shit I cried so much. I related so much to Lane’s anxiety and self-doubt and it was so healing to watch her journey.

This was an achingly beautiful story with the most poetic prose. So much story is packed into this short book but it never felt bogged down by overly complicated world building. Prepare to cry a LOT but more happy tears than sad ❤️

Richard Osman’s books are so clever, so funny and so full of heart. The audiobook was amazing, Nicola Walker was one of the best narrators I’ve ever listened to.

This just felt like trauma porn that was performative for shock value. The darker topics were not handled with any sort of care at all. Horrific event after horrific event was just piled on top of one another instead of actually weaving a story together. I am no stranger to dark romance but there’s a difference between writing a book with dark themes and throwing every traumatic event you can think of on a page. The target audience for this book are white women who are convinced they’re going to get trafficked from a Target parking lot because of a fake post that went viral on Facebook.
