The Good and the Green by Amy Yorke
4.0
I picked this up after someone recommended it saying something like “it’s like Lord of the Rings characters meets cozy cottage core”. The book is short enough that the plot (including the romance) does all feel a bit rushed. There are also so many side characters it can be hard to keep track of them - but the talking cats are easily the best. I enjoyed reading The Good and the Green enough that I immediately started reading the second book (The Bright and the Blue) when I finished it.
