A Return to Fear Street that’s twice as long as any of the originals, but with no more plot. It also takes 2/3 of the book, so roughly 200 pages, before anything teased on the back of the book happens. In the meantime we have to suffer through endless tiresome pranks played by an awful bunch of tiresome idiots.

Plus there is some really problematic handling of self-harm / mental health. If anything, it’s somehow worse than most of the 90s books, but with less excuse. This was published in 2018. Stine, or whoever he pays to write these books, should have known better by then.

Second RL Stine today. He’s still a misogynist with no understanding of plot structure.

Ill-conceived nonsense from RL Stine. The most horrifying thing here is how much he hates women and girls.
