  • It was interesting to learn about tennis, how it works, and how competitive it can be
  • Carries character was very well written! She's not likable but we can see why she acts the way she does. Her growth throughout the book was also great.
  • The little bit of romance was a nice touch
  • I loved seeing the relationship between Carrie and her father who is also her coach. They have upd and downs but that makes them all the more real. The love between them also shines through.
  • This book really highlights how women in sport were treated by the media and it was pretty awful.
  • The ending was spot on! I loved that Carrie went back to tennis to prove herself but she ends up losing in the end and becoming a coach to the new greatest. She learns a lot about success and happiness throughout the book and comes out of it a much better person.
