One of the best researched books I've ever read. I love microbiology and was drawn to Pathogenesis immediately. I loved the petri dishes cover and the title is just great. 
I definitely had expected a bit different content although I wasn't disappointed. If only history was taught at school this way, I might have actually liked the subject! As a person who is not a fan of history, going through ages of events with microbes in mind was great. 
I especially loved the first chapters which were about the first forms of life and pre-homo sapiens. I couldn't stop reading! The rest of the book was also interesting, but as I'm not a huge fan of history in general, there were moments when I thought that I'd like the author to get to microbes sooner. 

All in all, it's written in an easy language, it's a really interesting and an impressive book. I was excited to see the number of references (pages and pages of them!) as I'm definitely going to dive into some of the topics. 

Everyone who'd like to get a different perspective on our history should read it.

I don't know if I can even find the words to describe this book. Such a well-plotted novel. For the third of the book I was wondering what really happened, is it a crime, a sci-fi or any other genre and if there's a logical explanation to the events or not.
It made me keep reading until the late hours and I even forgot to go for my daily evening walk because I was so engrossed in the story! 

Caroline goes on a cruise with her new partner. Thousands of people on a huge, luxury ship. The trip looks wonderful, until she wakes up alone and no one's there. 
Imagine waking up in the middle of Atlantic with no one else around! 

What happens next is unbelievable, inhumane and horrific. Being on the most amazing ship that has everything you need... yet having no access to the essentials! 

Man, this book is a proper emotional rollercoaster! And if that's not enough, I've been worried about the dogs on the ship throughout the entire story! 

I love Will's books and this one is a killer.

My jaw dropped on the last sentence. It can be a great plot twist or an opening for the second book. It made me feel like when I first watched the Final Destination. If you're into mysteries like Mary Celeste, this book is for you! 

She did it again! What a captivating story! 

Best friends Eleanor, Michaela and Clio rent a Loch House for a couple days of holidays. It's all innocent... until it isn't! Looks like Michaela had a secret motive to bring her besties to the Scottish Loch. The events turn badly when the woman disappears and neither Clio nor Eleanor can find any trace of her. 

In a small village it's difficult to find any answers, the locals are cautious of the strangers and even the police isn't helpful... it turns out that there's a dark past following the girls. Two timelines of the past and the present makes everything even more compelling.

I truly enjoyed the stories of all the characters, the main mystery and how it all worked out. It's chilly, tense and it was difficult to stop reading! It definitely had the vibes similar to The Lighthouse which was one of my favourite books of the last year. 

I can't wait to see what Fran comes up with next!

What a fantastic thriller! Fast-paced, creepy, tense! 

A group of women attend the same fitness centre classes. They are friendly to each other and sometimes even meet outside of workouts. Nothing sinister there, right? Wrong! It's kind of crazy how it made me think of the ladies from my classes, and I'm hoping I never did anything to any of them!

The characters are complicated. Nothing is as it seems, and even though I have guessed some of the story, the biggest parts were huge plot twists I would have never expected.
Fascinating how Alex kept so many storylines so engaging, how the mysteries at first unconnected made a whole story and how calculated the movements were! 

Intrigue, the plotting, and the writing itself - absolutely brilliant.

It's definitely one of the best books I've read this year and I can't wait to read more by the author.

The best of Tina's book yet! I've been reading her books since the first one came out and I'll continue to do so with everything that Tina will write in the future as the quality of her work is amazing. Always creepy, entertaining and gripping stories! 

Make Me Clean is about Maria who just keeps killing people who are awful to her and people she cares about. She doesn't really do that on purpose, it just happens to her! Maria is also "cleaning" people's lives. Her clients trust her and confide in her. She's doing her best to help, even if this help happens to be deadly sometimes... And she's really good at cleaning the crime scene and hiding the bodies! 
I really enjoyed Maria's customers stories, because they were all so different to each other and somehow fit perfectly to what she's been dealing with.

The book has two timelines and we're learning about Maria's past as well as her presence. It's quite a powerful story when you look at what she's been through and how it impacted her personality.

Another brilliant creation, I can't wait to see what Tina writes next!

Anytime I start Janice's book, I know it'll be something I've never seen before. Her writing style is so different and the best part is that with every single book, just after finishing I wanted to read it again to see the book through the new lenses when everything unraveled! 

The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels has a cult (one of my fav themes!), two true crime journalists Amanda and Oliver chasing the same story, plot twists, surprises, red herrings and anything that makes you so engaged that you can forget about the outside world for a couple hours.

18 years ago a cult leader convinced two teenagers that there's an anti-Christ born and they need to kill it. Everything went wrong, the baby survived and now is finally an adult. The race to talk with them started. Amanda is a brilliant investigative journalist, she knows what she's doing, has her own contacts and strong intuition. Oliver is not as gifted, but with connections from his parents, he's not doing too badly. 
Their paths crossed in the past and now they like it or not, they're forced to work together. 

The places where this case will take them... the death toll, the mysterious coincidences... Mind blowing! 

And the writing style is something I absolutely adore. I'm always so curious what the author decided to do this time and what form she's going to play with. It's unique and I'm buying it 100%. 

If you haven't read the book yet, just buy it. Trust me.

Fearless is the first instalment in the new series by the bestselling author M.W. Craven. As the biggest fan of Poe & Tilly series, I couldn't wait to see what Mike prepared for us. 

I could definitely see a difference in the writing style and the change of a genre to a thriller packed with action, fights and countless deaths. It felt like a Jack-Reacher-ish book with a loner Ben Koenig making everyone want to kill him and getting into all sorts of trouble to help his friend. 

The plot is as always smart, the twists unpredictable and even though there isn't a genius sidekick, Ben is quite clever himself! It's a fast-paced book and it's hard to take a break and get back to the normal life responsibilities, when all you want to do is to see what's going to happen in the next chapter. There aren't many authors whose writing is so addictive!

I can't image what type of research the book required and what is the author's browsing history! Especially with the crime that started Ben's journey, it made me wince and I'm glad I was by myself as I don't think I looked pretty reading about it! 

I don't want to write any hints nor spoilers about what's going on in Fearless but the idea for the title and the first book is a pure genius. 

The book hasn't been published yet and just like for the Poe & Tilly series, I'm waiting (im)patiently for the next story!
