I'm definitely getting addicted to the series. What a wonderful continuation of The Dying Squad!
The story sends Joe Lazarus and his new partner Bits to the soil. They're chasing a murderer, who's taking the oldest and the youngest of a family, poisoning them with radiation. The media called him the Generation Killer.
Daisy-May is stuck in the Pen, she's trying to find out who's kidnapping the Dispossessed's children. Kids are disappearing, rumours about the woman without a glimmer spread, and it takes a Warden to find the truth.
While The Duchess is following her crazy sister Hannah on the soil, trying to stop her from committing the unforgivable crimes. After almost destroying all existence, Hannah has a mission which will be disastrous for those who are still alive.
The cases seem to be disconnected at first, the plotting is perfect, and when everything comes together it's a big wow! I didn't want the book to end, and at the same time I didn't want to stop reading. It's a fascinating story with really well-built characters.
Mixing crime with a fantasy and dystopian is a perfect combination for me - engrossing and unique.
THE ENDING! I have *so many* questions! And I truly hope that the next book will be released soon!
I said it about The Dying Squad and I'll say it about The Generation Killer - I'd love to see them on the big screen, or as a Netflix original series.
I can't wait to see what Adam comes up with next!

I really enjoyed The Art Of Death, so when I saw the new book in the series, I had to read it! It exceeded my expectations!
DI Archer has a lot going on. Her PTSD is worse than ever with the @nonymous killings triggering the events from the past coming to live. She can't rest and get help, she needs to catch another murderer. And the bodies keep appearing!
Dark past, weird religious cult and ritualistic murders. In the background, an old unsolved serial killer case from decades ago. What not to love?
Archer and Quinn are called to an unusual murder scene, and it's just the first one. Whenever they find the clue and connection, everything comes to a cult leader Aaron Cronin and his church - The Blood of Lamb, and the drug dealers connected to Archer's dad's death.
This fast-pace book is dark and fascinating. The plot perfectly written, I didn't see the ending coming and I can't wait to see what comes next.

The Cutting Season is a short story written for the Quick Reads. The premise is to get people into reading. The length of the book, the font size and the language are adjusted so that people who don't usually read, can pick it up, enjoy and, hopefully, look for more.
The book had to be engaging and funny, and it definitely is. I loved it so much. Poe & Tilly need to solve a weird murder, they know that it's all about debt and some kind of revenge, but finding it out takes a dangerous turn... The first chapter shows us Poe dangling on the meat hook, and hoping for the best!
Fantastically plotted, with the twists and humour.
A dose of Tilly & Poe before The Botanist is published is something that every fan can be grateful for.
I couldn't ask for more (maybe for a 1000 more pages but that'd go against the Quick Reads idea...) and I can't wait to get a few copies and give them away as gifts.

First Born is another fantastic book by Will Dean. I've read everything that he published and I felt this one was a bit different, it didn't have the same darkness as the previous ones, and saying that, it was similarly brilliant.
Molly and KT are twins, but they couldn't be more different. One is adventurous and brave, the other worries about everything. KT decides to move to New York and Molly can't forgive her the abandonment. Their relationship is strained and they're not that close anymore... and that's when KT is murdered, all alone in her apartment on the other side of the world...
Molly decides to conquer her fear and flies to America, so that she can find the killer, help the police and support her parents.
There are many secrets in KT's life, how she got University sponsorship, what kind of people she's friends with and maybe her life isn't what it seems...
The police doesn't seem to be making progress, the private detective approaches Molly and they're determined to solve the case.
Slow burning story, which makes you read until you finished the book. Sit comfortably, because you won't be able to do anything for a few hours!
Great thriller by a great author!

Into the Dark is another fantastic story from extremely talented author - Fiona Cummins. Gripping, unpredictable, and nothing is as it seems.
Imagine that you have a routine - every morning you start at your best friend's house where you're both going for a run, until this one time... your friend disappeared with her entire family.
The empty house has an eerie atmosphere when Julianne comes to Piper's place. Together with their cleaner who just arrived they enter the building... the phones are still charging, the breakfast is left half-eaten, the kids' backpacks are placed in the hallway... yet the family is nowhere to be seen.
The police finds traces of blood, confusing clues and is changing the missing persons case into a murder one.
The secrets, betrayal and greed are hidden, and when they unravel, the reader hold their breath!
Not only the main plot is interesting, but the police and forensic on the case seem to be weirdos who have their own darkness that's waiting to be released...
Into the Dark is another must-read by Fiona!

The Girl Beyond Forever is a fast paced thriller about a father whose daughter Amber have been kidnapped by a cult. He's been searching for her for a decade and he's desperate. His family fell apart, he became a person who finds other people. Every case can potentially give him a new lead about Amber.
One day the psychiatrist specialised in cults refers a case to him. Unusual one, as he never takes children's cases - too much pain, too similar to his own... yet this time there are similarities in the kidnapping...
In a search for truth, Thomas Schaefer crosses a lot of lines, burns a lot of bridges and causes a lot of trouble.
Will his quest be successful and his family reunited? Or are the mad and rich people of the Church of the Eternal Light succeed in their dark mission involving Schaefer's family?
Dark, twisted and packed with action!
I loved the supernatural element! Fantastically fit into the cult topic.
Another brilliant book by Adam.
