The best out of the three.
The character development was top tier in this one. Yarros gave us more of Xaden, more of Violet, and more of Ridoc, along with the dragons. The plot/conflict was just as top tier. The way she weaved together some of the plot holes from the first two books was amazing and in true Yarros fashion, she leaves us with a jaw dropping cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next one!

Kiki was a little annoying, which I guess should be expected since this was a YA novel with a high school as the main setting. Most of her problems could have been avoided if she just communicated with both her parents and Liam.

I’ve finally finished it. Full transparency, I put off reading this series because of how it was hyped on BookTok because sometimes, the hype is completely unwarranted and ruins a book. I am glad that I finally chose to give this series a chance. I didn’t expect to fall in love with the characters (I love Magnolia and understand that most people do not love her, which I think is kind of sad because to me, she represents the complexity of a broken girl who has the unfortunate circumstance of having emotionally immature parents) and love the writing even more. Sure, there were times where it felt like the plot was lost in the repetitiveness of Magnolia’s and BJ’s toxic moments, but I now understand that that was part of the picture—the picture that shows us in incredible detail just how much they love one another and how much they belong together. Admittedly, I was rooting for Julian, but after reading this, realize that Magnolia and BJ were always endgame. Add the complexities of their relationship, with the heaviness of the grief they experienced, not only from losing Bridget, but also Magnolia’s coming to understand and acknowledge the loss of her own parents (and caretaker) to an extent, and this book was an emotional rollercoaster of understanding why Magnolia is the way she is. I’m glad they got their happy ending and can’t wait to ready the next book where we hopefully get Daisy’s, Christian’s, and Julian’s point of view of the events that took place in this book—especially Julian’s car ride with Magnolia and the fallout at the house.

All in all, a really great read with dynamic characters.

I waited to read Sofie’s story because honestly, she wasn’t my favorite in the Walsh and Kerris books. This ended up being a nice surprise because not only was there more depth with her character, Trevor Bishop was a fantastic MMC. While the ending felt rushed, this was a good read overall

I quite liked this Daisy Haites book better than the last one. I really like that we get all three POVs of Daisy, Julian, and Christian and I like even more that Hastings is able to weave the events of the last book into this book in a way where you are provided with a different perspective and context. It’s part of what I like most about her writing. The other part is her ability to share the POV of the character’s perspective of the events unfolding, while also sharing their reaction to said events, and then their ability to read the other characters’ reactions and responses because of how tight knit these groups of people are. All of that makes these books incredibly addicting because the storytelling is just so good.
