this book made me laugh, smile, gasp, and even cry a bit,  everything you need in a 5 star book to be honest. I feel as though this might have been lower rated if i hadn't heard a quote earlier that week. "we hate miscommunication tropes because they're so realistic to real life relationships". although it was a little repetitive a few times with word choice, a lovely book overall.

I CANT DO THE MILLION TROPE DEAL AHHHHHH, like why did the author try to squeeze every trope in the first hour? i needed to stop when
a gun got pulled on the mc man

Such a good representation of how a realistic freshman year actually is. Found this in a book libary and wasnt expecting much but got so much more. it wasnt a EXTREMELY special book, but a good one nonetheless

i can not tell you how much i SOBBED during this. read it in one sitting so that should tell you a lot since its 400 pages. at first i didnt really see why we needed mateo's POV but obviously by the end im glad we did. i really recommend this book!!
i was really hoping they wouldnt both die at the end but they did. i was also hoping theyd die together but it makes sense why they didnt so that other characters could kind of get closure

ummm hated the writing.... the author did  good job at making the wife seem
crazy and unbearable
the plot was predictable like right after
the housemaid started doing stuff with whats his face
probably wont read the next one

Only interested for like the last 100 pages...which is very sad considering the first 2 were so highly rated for me. It was very political heavy this go around. and maybe i just found it boring because there was like months in between reading the second and third book but idk. hated the ending too.
