This is very fluffy YA in disguise. Do you want Not-Like-Other-Girls™️, a love triangle sort of out of nowhere, a predicable plot, and classic fanfic writing (eyes = orbs in this one, folks), all in a Chinese high fantasy setting? This is the book for you! Read lightly, and don't think very hard. As soon as I stopped reading so closely, and took it down to almost-skimming, I had a much better time.

This was really good. It was actual horror - not comedy-horror like the title would lead you to believe. Points docked for heavily leaning on the Magical Negro trope
