4 stars on the face of it, but rounded up to 5 because, in my 33 years and many hundreds of books read, my aroace self has never felt so seen.

Like really, it's the first time I've ever felt someone truly understands. "I clearly love you and care for you and want to be your partner forever but I explicitly DON'T want to kiss you and in fact don't like the concept of kissing at all; can we just like be near each other always, with maybe a comforting touch?" T_T

So far this is entirely the MC wandering in a grief-induced dissociative fog. That combined with the poor and young in the South is wrenching me back to one of the worst periods in my life and I just Can't.
