The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne
5.0
This book is raw, heartbreaking, and moving. It opens your eyes to the hardships that gay people had to face during this time and the pressure on them to remain hidden. It was sometimes humorous while also being rather depressing. This book was written perfectly, ugly truth and all.
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
5.0
I went into this book not knowing what to expect and it blew me away. I was perfectly written. Amor Towles is brilliant and a terrific writer. The Count was such a likeable character that I was rooting for him non-stop. There we dark moments but overall this was a rather uplifting book and it was such an enjoyable read.
