I adore this book so much. I’m so happy that other readers get to enjoy this book as well. I’ve always wanted to read a great space-opera, but it is so hard to find ones I know I’ll like. The Nature of Darkness fit so perfectly with everything I love—action, complex characters, found family (though it was kind of in the background, romance, and mythology.
Each character was written incredibly well with unique personalities, flaws, and motives. This is something I was so impressed by. Lots of books feel like the characters are just carbon copies of each other with a few different traits, but Jace, Athena, Reese, and Lydia (and the other minor characters) all felt so complex and fleshed-out. Each relationship felt real and emotional. I absolutely love Jace and Athena’s relationship full of tension and history. I can’t wait to see Reese and Lydia’s relationship play out in the next book!
Crafton’s writing flows so well with the story, and her description is beautiful. I so badly wish Jace and Athena’s story was longer, but I was happy with their ending. I can’t wait to read more books by A.M. Crafting.
