Heartbreaking. This graphic novel tells the story of Holodomor, the Ukrainian Famine, by following the POV of different family members throughout the novel. The artwork is stunning and done in such a way that it adds dramatically to the sense of terror and grief the people of the Ukrainian village Zelenyi Hai are experiencing under Stalin's rule. Really a stunning piece of work that taught me a lot about a subject I didn't know anything about prior to picking up the book.
