I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while and overall, I’m glad I did. Reading Leduc’s work will give you a new perspective on how disability is represented (and erased) in classic fairy tales, Marvel, and Disney stories. This book also offers a vision for more diverse/inclusive representation!
What I didn’t love was the book’s disjointedness. It felt at times like a memoir and other times like an academic article which made it sometimes difficult to follow in audiobook format. I also found it somewhat repetitive- like I was reading the slightly different versions of the same sentence at times.
Moderate: Ableism, Bullying, Suicidal thoughts, and Medical content
