This book wasn't what I expected but in a good way. It reminds me a lot of the Eve Trilogy as some aspects of The Hunger Games.

The ending caught me off guard, can't wait to read the second book

My only complaint is the romance seemed pretty rushed, but it made sense for the story

Despite taking a few months to read this (my own reading slump) this is a great tool. Any writer would benefit from having this in their writing toolbox.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
I enjoyed the story up until
they landed on earth
there were parts after that took me out of the story and I wasn't as involved
I found the way Joy talked about herself triggering

I did enjoy their connection and the concept being explored
