It's kinda rare to find straight trans male characters for some reason, which is why I picked up the book. The romance is cute and the sex scenes are great. I loved all the characters pretty much and the mystery is great.
Ed is very relatable for me, as another trans guy. I like the representation of unsupportive families, cuz it do be like that. Overall, worth a read. I had a good time.

"I kiss him again and again, hoping that one of them will convince him that he’s loved enough to come home."

I was expecting a fantasy, but this is mostly a drama. I still can't wrap my head aoround that ending tbh.

"My song was the only sad note in heaven"

I've never been christian, so I couldn't relate to pretty much anything in the book. I struggled to get through it. Not even Anne Rice's beautiful prose could save this book for me. It just made no sense, dreadfully boring, and reading with non-christian eyes, it looks silly.

A story about life, death, and overcoming grief. Although I appreciate the ambience, it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. 3 stars for me.

Funny. Even though I'm also a demiboy (I think, though I don't really use that term) I wasn't able to relate to Felix that much, and the dialogue felt a little rant-like at some points. (Like, some moments felt like the character was speaking more towards a reader who doesn't know a lot about lgbt discourse than to the other  characters involved in the scene. But maybe I'm just speaking from my been-in-the-online-lgbt-community-since-the-womb high horse. I get that some people need to be informed.) With that said, it did inspire me a bit, and it hooked me to the point that I stayed up till 1:30 a.m reading, and finished it all in two days, so I guess that counts for something. I also loved how compassionate and empathetic the book is, to literally all of its characters. It's something that I think people need to see more of.
