Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

This series is so good and well written. Everything about it is so well thought out and the world building makes it seem real. The characters are very complex and interesting to read about also.
Thicker Than Water: A Memoir by Kerry Washington

I don’t understand why but it seems like every major celebrity memoir is just lowkey god propaganda. I wasn’t really liking the book. I don’t vibe with the writing style and I just don’t like memoirs that consistently bring up god. It just wasn’t for me.
Red My Lips by Lila Herron

I liked this book, but I felt like it got to the point where it was too long and just repetitive. I have a love-hate relationship with the characters. I was invested in their relationship, however, I was frequently frustrated with them and their lack of communication and all the assumptions they made about each other. Overall, I did enjoy the book, it just got frustrating sometimes.
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

I was honestly just bored and I did not like any character. The move is much better.
The Girl I Am, Was, and Never Will Be by Shannon Gibney

This was good, but sometimes a bit hard to follow. I don’t really like speculative surreal fiction, but I thought I would give it a try. Throughout the book, I did start to enjoy it more and more, but I just don’t think this genre is for me. It was a good read overall, it just takes some time to get used to.
Girls Like Girls by Hayley Kiyoko

YA wlw might be my favorite genre. I love every book that I read in this genre. This book was very good and went through the process of coming out and accepting who you are, specifically in a small town. I loved it and highly recommend reading.
The Anxious Generation: How The Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness by Jonathan Haidt

So basically phone bad, book good.
It was interesting to read about the changes in mental illness in teens through the generations but also I did get bored the farther I got into the book.
The Other Significant Others: Reimagining Life with Friendship at the Center by Rhaina Cohen

I think everyone should read this tbh. It discusses the importance of having many people in your life for different things and how important friends are in life. I think it is a good mix of anecdotal and research that shows how friends are important and affect your quality of life.
Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

People say this book is so much longer than twilight because Edward is awake 24/7 whereas Bella has to sleep and I disagree. This book is so much longer because Edward loves to yap. He liter takes 7 minutes MINIMUM to dissect each and everything anyone says ever. It was very interesting to see the events from a different point of view and to read about Edward’s thoughts rather than having Bella being the narrator. He is honestly such a drama queen. I’m obsessed with him lowkey.
Class: A Memoir of Motherhood, Hunger, and Higher Education by Stephanie Land

Stephanie is SUCH a good writer. She does such an amazing job describing the story and experiences in each of her books. She includes a good mix of research and statistics in this book that adds to the ancentdotal aspects. It truly helps explain the circumstances so many people have to live with everyday.
