Even if I really came from people who were behaving like monkeys in trees, it was better to be that than what happened to me, what I became after I met you.

At its very core, the story of Jack the Ripper, is a narrative of a killer’s deep, abiding hatred of women, and our cultural obsession with the mythology only serves to normalize its particular brand of misogyny.

“The leylines, the corpse roads, the death roads, doodwegen if you believe the Dutch, but who does, this is how we used to carry our dead.”

As a Dutchie I was so excited to see my own language in here but am not entirely sure how to feel about the context😂 Greatly enjoyed the book though, definitely the best one in the series so far although the final confrontation was very underwhelming to me, luckily the epilogue saved it.
