This book had a strong start but it started to fall apart at 60%.

I rage finished it, and found nothing that could salvage it.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
I’m at 31%, have been rage reading it only because this seriously cannot be something thousands of people have liked, recommended and made it a best-seller; right?

My biggest gripe was the hacking. Everyone and their mother is brilliant at hacking YET the FMC just continues to live in this godforsaken house without any security? Don’t even get me started on the relationships. Both the friendship and the stalkership are so shallow, a baby could wade theough it.

The MMC is a walking toxic-misogynistic-ahole of a conundrum. Mr. I stalk and r*pe a woman but hey i also save girls from trafficking but I hate talking to rpist but i am a r*pist.

Eff this book. I doubt I’ll rage finish it.

This is a weird one. After reading this one, I had to go back and alter my book 1 rating.

Three reasons:

1. While it did hold my interest long enough for me to finish, I skipped pages and paragraphs. The book TELLS you things rather than showing it. And I got real tired of how beautiful Tristan was, his whiskey and sin voice, and like everything had to be descriptive with a sprinkle of insta-love.

2. The story made no sense. There are “powereful” mafia bosses and powerful men but they get caught easily?
Die easily?

3. The final twist was so badly written. It took all but two seconds for our ML to go “okay guess that’s that”

But it is entertaining enough that I will continue reading it. Call it a guilty pleasure. A “Twilight” esque read.

While I absolutely loved the first 60% of the book, the ending brought the excitement down and I found myself skipping paragraphs to reach the end as fast as possible.

Lived the way nature is brought to life on the pages, and devoured the scenery set for the Sequoia National Park.
