How disappointing. The themes of ‘American heroes’ never sat right with me but in this book i couldn’t stand it anymore. Also the lack of ANY bipoc characters and the very whiteness of these books was just boring.
The only black characters in this series are the disadvantaged one she meets in Uganda? Yeah, no. Describing the air as ‘African air’ being asked ‘you’ve never been to Africa before?’ when she’s in Uganda? Uganda ≠ Africa ffs.
Being made to seem oh so great by adopting kids from Uganda and S.Korea but they’re clearly not going to teach them about their cultures I mean they changed the S.Korean kid’s name from Mishil to Misha ffs.
I can’t with this author anymore there were other issues too but I’m done.

I can’t describe enough how much I enjoyed this book wowowow chefs kiss baby.
Please heed age ratings and trigger warnings.
James and Wendy were fantastic; I loved the writing style and pacing; the descriptions of the violent, gory, bloody and graphic parts were so good.
I loved the darkness in this dark romance though I slightly wished for more at times. Ugh fantastic plot and great smüt- I’m living babes. I was enjoying this so much grinning half the time dying over James as James AND as Hook.
I loved the happy ending, of course, but some things in the epilogue were too happy like chill. Like some things should not have been resolved or the resolution should have been developed- as in I wanted to read through the resolution too.
Anyways loved this book so much read it in one sitting I could hardly put it down!!
