Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

5.0

I only realized that Neverwhere was Gaiman's first full novel after I had finished it and was honestly surprised. Neverwhere is a thoughtful and exquisite novel and Gaiman paints some magnificent pictures of a fantastic and magical "sub-urban" life. While the story certainly does have elements of Alice in Wonderland, it seemed far more akin to Labyrinth, or Little Monsters in it's presentation. At times scary, but always unpredictable, it's a book that I am supremely glad I read and will be recommending to everyone.
