I have read reviews of this saying this was not Sedaris' best work. It is the first of his I have read and I have to say I was more than impressed with it. If this is his least impressive work I can't wait to read what those individuals would consider to be his best.
This collection of what is essentially short stories is endearing and funny and just altogether entertaining, a wonderful combination of heart felt and downright satirical is a wonderful collection for a comfortable afternoon with friends or family.
