Billionaire, M.D. by Olivia Gates
5.0
Synopsis:
The female protagonist is somewhere in the middle of dreamscape and wakefulness. She is lying in a hospital bed, and when the handsome doctor approaches her, she is aware of the fact that she too is a doctor, but she can't remember anything other than that.
He's a neurosurgeon, who owns a hospital in Barcelona; and he informs her that she's a senior trauma/reconstructive surgery resident in the same hospital. And that she survived an accident and is pregnant. And that her husband who was with her at the time of the accident is dead.
Review:
I think the Author Note right at the beginning made me fall in love with the story, even before I started reading it. Olivia Gates is a woman of many talents. Out of her many books, I have read only Sarantos Brothers Series till now, but Billionaire, M.D. has become my absolute favourite!
The beginning of the story is just magical, you have to read it to feel it.
Alternating between the female MC's point of view and that of Dr Rodrigo Valderrama's, their first conscious face-to-face left me in splits. Coz before even knowing who he is, she kisses him (ah, talk about knowing someone on an elemental level!). Kudos to the author, who along with pouring her medical knowledge into the story; spins such hotness into it.
And pardon me, he isn’t only Rodrigo Valderrama but, Rodrigo Edmundo Arrellano i Bazan Valderrama i de Urquiza. Now, ain't that a mouthful! Haha!
There are quite many surprises in this amnesiac story. And such shocking and mind-bending twists they are! The author knows her medical humour too.
It's a little disappointing. There is so much hatred and no comeuppance because the person who caused such distress in other's lives is dead. I hate it when that happens! But then again, without death, there wouldn't have been any love.
P.S. It was great to read about all the Catalan traditions. And also, the ingenious naughty scene at the end was a bonus! Though an epilogue would have been nice.

This was a face mapped with anxiety and responsibility and distinction. She wanted to absorb the first, ease the second and marvel at the third.

She would have carved his brains out with forceps and sued him into his next few reincarnations.
