Am I mad I read this? No. Do I feel like this was literally SJM’s weakest book? Yes. SJM opened up SO many subplots and hinted at SO many connections that I’m just left wondering what is going on. You know that cliche about opening a can of worms? This felt like SJM opened 700 cans of worms, dumped them all over the floor, screamed “WOW LOOK AT ALL THESE WORMS, ISNT THAT EXCITING, OKAY BYE.” And I’m just left here with 12,492 worms wriggling on the ground asking, “…what the hell just happened?”
