Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson

okay this is fine? first secret project that (broke kickstarter) ive read, and im a little let down. having looked at the inspirations at the end of the book, it really does seem like its all crammed together in a kinda strained way? the narratological choice was a bit flat for me, which is upsetting since hoid is one of the few character i enjoy looking back on the wider cosmere. its definitely a side novel and im unsure how relevant a lot of it will be or the implications of it going forward. you know that guy that watches and reads a lot of anime/manga and writes something that isn't quite 100% anime but takes the best parts from it? yeah. 2.5 stars
