Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Törzs

3.0

First and foremost!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I expected witchy sisters and grimoires... and what I got was a pleasant and much darker surprise.

I would describe this book as more dark academia than full fantasy. It is a modernized world with a sprinkling of hidden magic for those who know where and what to look for. The puzzle pieces scattered through the story were a joy to following and piece together. The surprisingly dark concepts had me wondering just how far things would go.

I loved how the author described the world, and the painstaking detail she used to bring the magic and it's rules to life. You could really close your eyes and imagine everything in the story. Lets just say well enough that a few times I got nauseous just reading about blood draws. (I cannot handle them irl)

My only complaint was that the story starts off rather slow and at time the inner monologue of the characters were semi childish.
Overall would recommend.
