This was a really touching narrative and I'm glad she had the opportunity to tell it.

My main criticisms are that I wish there was less voice-over narration and I wish that some of the backgrounds were more detailed (idk how much firstsecond pays for first timers so maybe that wasn't feasible which is understandable).

Plot-wise, I felt frustrated that Kiku had the time to get a girlfriend but not to talk to her young grandmother who lived next door!!! I mean relatable but I want to see her unpack that more or try to talk to the grandmother. She felt very passive as a protagonist and I feel like it's thematically appropriate with how helpless she felt, but even a scene where she has a crying breakdown and expresses her emotions to Aiko would have been cool. It's hard to express it without sounding weird but I want to see some strong emotions and bonding on the page!

She has a conversation with her mother after the third displacement, and I felt like that would have fit in better after the second displacement so that both Kiku and the reader have context for what is happening, but now there's also more tension because she knows how it works but she still can't get back.

I think it's a great and informative story and I learned a lot, there were just a couple things that bug me that I think would have made it clearer. Would recommend
