It’s been a while since I’ve had a book that I couldn’t stopping thinking about, so this one caught me by surprise. I loved how many tropes were so effortlessly used, yet never seemed to compete for attention. I loved all of the secrets that slowly get revealed, only to lead to more questions. And the political intrigue, yes please!

From watching other readers review this book, I thought that it would be a bit spicier than it was. Honestly, this felt like romcom level spice to me, some of the scenes are short and can easily be breezed over of spice isn’t your thing. With that said, I’d be happy with more in the next book.

Was some of plot predictable? Sure. But there were also things that I didn’t see coming until we were in it. And that last page… *chefs kiss* It ended with just enough of a conclusion that you weren’t left with a cliffhanger, but it still had me begging for answers to the questions left hanging.

This might have been my first Scarlett St. Clair book, but you can guarantee that it won’t be my last!
