Fantastic start to the series and I can’t wait to see where it goes. It took me a while to get in to this book, but that’s common for me with fantasy books with complex “magic” systems. This one is no different; the burning metals and Allomancy took a bit to get used to, but Sanderson is masterful at slowly introducing the lore so it’s not overwhelming.

There were a lot of moving parts, character introductions, and magical rules to follow; but honestly it was a treat to read through it. The ragtag bunch of skaa was adorable, and the little glimpses into the noble life satisfied my love of fancy outfits. All the characters, particularly Kelsier and Vin, were well developed and I loved following their stories and I can’t wait to see where the series goes.

On to the next!
