The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley by Courtney Walsh

emotional inspiring reflective fast-paced

5.0

Absolutely adored this book. I've had the ARC for awhile and have been putting it off and I'm actually so glad I did because I wasn't in the right place and I might not have loved it. But now I'm in a better place and reading about how Isadora found her happiness was perfect for me.

This book is a little more women's fiction than Walsh usually writes but have no fear there is still plenty of romance to keep us die hard romance fans happy. I absolutely fell in love with Cal. He is very swoon worthy.

I loved the setting of this book too. I don't see a ton of books set in the world of academia and I absolutely loved that she was a researcher and he was a professor at the same university. The workplace trope was very well done.

I really loved the subject matter of this book too. I think it is truly important for us to be reminded how happiness works while at the same time being reminded that forgiveness and letting go of grudges is key as well. I loved all of Isadora's self discovery in this book.

As much as I loved Cal I think that Darby really stole the show with how she befriended Isadora. I could use a Darby in my life.

I definitely recommend this to anyone that loves a romantic women's fiction.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
