The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
3.0
**Read a second time via Audible read by Richard Armitage I enjoyed this more as a performance then a novel and bumped it from a 2* to 3* so would advise people to listen to that version.
I now understand why the concept of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is more popular than the book itself. It is a short book well written with a unique concept and interesting writing. However, the book seems not fully formed. There is never any real backstory to how vile Hyde is, just that everyone knows he is an evil man, with the only proof being the bump into a child until the end where you find out he had murdered someone. More history into Hyde's adventures and in-depth look into why Dr.Jekyll tried the mixture would have made a more fulfilling story.
