at some point the protagonist says he hates all shades of orange (which is fine who cares) but his reasoning is that orange doesn't appear in nature. ?!?! sunsets? tiger lillies? tigers? crabs? foxes? i can name like 10 orange birds off the top of my head.  and i can name like 20 orange fish!! i liked reading about the math though
