Very much a 2016 YA contemporary novel, which I didn’t mind because I’m a fan of angsty, pining contemporary novels of years past. Spans a length of time quickly, emotions are all over the place, but it has a solid ending that had I not known it was trilogy, I would have thought it was a standalone. I liked how the slam poetry was weaved in. I felt that was a neat aspect. And I loved Eddie, she was a great character! The audiobook narration was enjoyable, too.
