I think it's time to admit that this book series may not be for me. I promised I would at least read the third book and I have, but while it's an improvement on the others, I still just can't quite get into this series the way I think one needs to.

I liked some parts, it definitely felt more interesting and unique than the first two books in the series did. It does feel a little bit like Maas got through two books and decided she wanted her main character to be royalty... which is a bit odd that we lived in her head for two books and this just never came up. It's not not interesting, but a little weird. I think my real issue with this book was the jumping POV narratives. I found that it was all over the place and a little chaotic, I don't mind changing POV narratives, but this was a lot of changing back and forth, more than I thought was necessary.

I might get back to this series eventually, but as of right now, I think it's just not for me.
