This is my second Claire Keegan book, just as elegantly simple as it is poignant.  It’s a reflective book that focuses on a summer a Irish child is minded by some relatives.  It’s nothing overly unique in its plot or characters.  But its melancholy tone, and descriptions of the building of the child’s growth and trust in these strangers is impactful and haunting.
