I really enjoyed this book. I love the Victorian London setting and the addition of steampunk automotons was really cool. I'm not sure why I waited so long to start this series as it's just up my alley. Tessa is a great character and I can't wait to see how she develops, coming into her power, discovering who/what she really is, and finding a place for herself in the next book. Jem and Will are both fascinating characters. They're both so different, with their own secrets to discover. I feel like we are just scratching the surface with them, especially Will and I'm dying to know if he and Tessa can ever learn to understand each other. Jessamine was another fun character who I thought I'd hate in the beginning but ended up really liking and I hope she plays a bigger and maybe even a more bad ass role in the future. I guess I'll find out.

I really whizzed through this one and I expect it'll be the same for the next in the series when I get to it.
