Ice & Sweet by Charlie Novak

5.0

This book is a perfect holiday read, I could not stop smiling when reading it. It is a perfect mix of sweet, spicy and funny with low angst so you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the book.

Luke, a former child star turned baker, is making the cake for his best friend Kane’s wedding. The best friend that he fake dated for 3 years so that Kane, who at the time was in a boyband, could come out. But it wasn’t Kane that was Luke’s secret crush but André the bandmate of Kane.  A crush he has been fighting for over 5 years.
When they met again on their way to the wedding, after Luke’s car blew-out a tyre, he realizes that the crush he has on André is not going anywhere. But he is not alone in his pining because André has had a crush on Luke since the day they met all those years ago. But never said anything because Luke was dating Kane. But when he finds out it was all for show, all bets are off and a snowstorm helps them along the way since they now are stuck an extra day at the wedding venue. Que a lot of flirting, spicy moments and baked goods.

This book is spicier than you would think but it just elevates the connection between the two main characters. I enjoyed that when we left the wedding venue and came back to the “real world” we still got a lot of plot progress and that we see how Luke and André’s relationship evolves during this time.

I am so happy that I have been giving Holiday Romance books a chance this season because otherwise I may have missed this gem of a book.
