The blurb and general description of this book caught my eye; I’m always here for a good academic rivals situation, but throw in a fantasy element and the sapphic romance and I’m sat.

However, this book in its first chapter did nothing for me; I was confused as to what’s going on and I did not like either of the main characters much. I kept on reading because I really wanted to enjoy this, but after a few more chapters this book turned into a murder mystery and that’s simply not something I enjoy reading…
